• Caregivers Employed by Agency –Our caregivers are our employees, and we pay all required taxes, benefits, workers compensation, and insurance.

A Note About so-called “Independent Contractors”, “Employment Agencies”, “Registries”, and Private Hires

Caregivers that our company provides to your older loved ones are employees of our company.

• This means that we pay for all benefits, payroll taxes, unemployment insurance, and workers compensation insurance for them.
• We also pay for complete criminal background checks and driving record checks on them and we pay for their insurance and fidelity bonding.

If you hire a different caregiving agency and that other agency that says that the agency is not the employer of the caregiver that the agency sends to your parent's home, then watch out: you or your parent are the employer of that caregiver. Our basis for making this assertion is that under the provisions of the California Labor Code for determining whether or not a worker is an independent contractor, in-home caregivers cannot legally qualify for treatment as “Independent Contractors”; therefore they must be treated as employees of either the caregiver company or the client.
